Holker Estate is a privately owned, 17,000-acre rural estate located on the beautiful South Lakeland Peninsula of Cumbria. With a rich heritage and a forward-thinking approach, the Estate is home to a diverse portfolio of land, residential, agricultural, and commercial property interests.

We are recruiting for a skilled Decorator/Handyperson as we expand our Maintenance Team and take care of our wide range of buildings across the Estate.

You will be experienced in internal and external painting and decorating work and with all types of surfaces. From surface preparation (including patching and plastering where required) and painting to hanging wallpaper, you will provide high standard of work and operating in a clean and tidy manner.

Working hours: 40 hours per week - Monday-Friday 8am - 4.30pm.

Up to £32,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

Being comfortable working at heights, both on ladders and scaffolding and working in all weathers are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks, including painting, decorating, and general handyman works.
• Collaborating closely with team members to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to a high standard, including helping to mentor junior members of the team.
• Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
• Assist with other tasks as needed to support the team and progress through the work.

• Proven experience in decorating and general maintenance work.
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering quality results.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent time management skills.
• A valid UK driving licence is essential for this role.
