About the Role:

• Design and deliver engaging and informative textiles courses, workshops, and lessons, tailored to the curriculum or student needs.
• Cultivate a stimulating and well-equipped studio environment that fosters creativity, exploration of textiles techniques, and a passion for textile design.
• Guide students in developing a comprehensive understanding of core textiles principles, traditional and contemporary techniques, and innovative design processes.
• Prepare students for success in external examinations (if applicable) or portfolio development for further education or industry.
• Supervise and maintain the textiles studio, ensuring the safe and proper use of equipment and materials.
• Collaborate with colleagues in the Art & Design department to develop a cohesive curriculum and contribute to college-wide events or exhibitions (as applicable).

The Ideal Candidate:

• Possesses a relevant qualification in Textiles, Fashion Design, or a related field.
• Demonstrates a strong passion for textiles, a broad knowledge of traditional and contemporary techniques, and a captivating teaching style.
• Excels in communication, interpersonal skills, and classroom/studio management within a creative learning environment.
• A keen eye for design and a commitment to fostering creativity and innovation in students.
• Ability to demonstrate safe practices and maintain a well-organized and functional textiles studio environment.
• Holds a steadfast commitment to safeguarding and promoting student well-being.
