Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children. This position offers an opportunity to utilise your management and leadership skills while supporting early childhood development. The Nursery Practitioner will be responsible for delivering high-quality care and education, ensuring children's individual needs are met with compassion and professionalism.

Duties

  • Plan and implement engaging activities that promote children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development
  • Supervise and support children during play, learning, and mealtime routines
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised nursery environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication
  • Monitor children's progress and provide feedback to parents during regular updates
  • Assist in the development of personalised care plans for each child
  • Support the professional development of team members through leadership and management responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with nursery policies, procedures, and early childhood education standards
  • Contribute to the organisation of nursery events and activities that enhance children's learning experiences

Experience

  • Proven experience working with children within a nursery or childcare setting
  • Demonstrated management or leadership skills within a childcare environment
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Experience with child development assessments and planning educational activities
  • Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or supplies as needed
