Overview

We are seeking dedicated Catering Assistants for various Schools across Oldham and Greater Manchester. The ideal candidates will have a passion for food specifically within an Educational setting whether that be 'cleaner, greener, healthier' food initiatives, world food days or food prep classes.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve food to pupils and teachers
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene following H&S Regulations
  • Serve food in a friendly manner
  • Follow food safety and hygiene standards and working with team members to ensure rotation of stock, deep cleaning and other ad hoc kitchen tasks
  • Assist with safeguarding duties wherever required
  • Collaborate with the Cook Supervisor to being new ideas for the schools

Requirements

  • Previous experience within an Educational setting is required
  • You must have a clean, valid Enhanced DBS
  • You must have the Right to Work in the UK
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures along with the relevant certifications
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
  • Ability to work flexibly, including during busy periods and ad hoc events if required
  • A proactive attitude with a keen eye for detail
  • Personal presentation that reflects professionalism

Flexible working hours are available, Monday - Friday, various locations within Oldham and Greater Manchester

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Zero hours contract

Pay: £12.21-£15.95 per hour
