The Role

Are you ready to make a real impact on how residents interact with local services? Tameside Council is looking for a Web Developer to join our web development team as we embark on an ambitious Customer Experience Programme, driving digital transformation and improving user experience across all customer contact channels.

This is a dynamic and varied position where you'll work on multiple projects and contribute at every stage of the software development lifecycle. While your core focus will be software development, you'll also have the opportunity to influence design decisions and shape the future of our digital services.

Through our Customer Experience Programme we are transforming how customers interact with Tameside Council. Our goal is to deliver a consistently excellent customer experience across all customer contact channels. By working closely with the programme team and business areas we will leverage customer insights to improve efficiency and reduce avoidable contacts and demand. Where possible, we will adopt co-production methods, engaging users in shaping the look, feel and processes when designing resident-facing services.

What You'll Do

  • Responsible for the development and ongoing maintenance of web-based applications, and bespoke system integrations.
  • Design, develop, configure, test and deliver automation processes and applications.
  • Support innovation and new ways of working across the council and with partners.
  • Provide technical input and advice relating to Council development and digital programmes
    Provide software development support to stakeholders.
