Job Summary: We are currently seeking a dedicated and professional GP Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients and will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of our practice. The GP Receptionist will handle administrative tasks, greet patients, schedule appointments, and provide exceptional customer service. This is a part time position and the successful candidate will work on a rota basis between the hours of 07:45 and 18:45 Monday to Friday. The practice opens between 09:00 and 13:00 on a Saturday once per month and this shift is covered on a rota basis amongst all reception staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patients with a friendly and welcoming demeanour.
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the appointment calendar efficiently.
- Ensure patient information is accurate and up-to-date in our electronic medical records system.
- Process patient registrations and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Liaise with medical staff and other team members to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Handle patient inquiries and provide information about services offered.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and data entry.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a medical office or similar administrative role is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate and empathetic towards patients.
- Previous experience of EMIS is ideal but not essential.
