What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead and contribute to a variety of projects, providing strategic advice on building performance, lifecycle planning, creative reuse, and more.
  • Prepare professional reports including condition and defect analyses, Technical Due Diligence, Dilapidations and remedial works schedules
  • Prepare technical specifications and schedules, design development reports and supporting clients in the implementation and on-site monitoring of design solutions.
  • Act as Job Leader, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Represent Buro Happold at meetings with clients, other professionals, and suppliers and build strong, trusted relationships.
  • Produce and review reports, presentations drawings to an excellent standard, with an emphasis on clarity, accuracy and technical insight.
  • Support business development and contribute to internal initiatives that drive innovation and technical excellence.
  • Mentor more junior team members, potentially leading to an early line management role.

What We're Looking For

  • As an experienced Senior Building Surveyor, you will be able to demonstrate:
  • Experience preparing professional reports and presenting to clients.
  • Experience acting as lead surveyor on projects
  • Strong technical knowledge and capability from working on a wide range of projects, ranging in age, typology and sectors
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong project coordination and financial management skills.
  • A Bachelor's degree BSc or Masters degree MSc in a relevant discipline (i.e. Building Surveying).
  • Chartered status with a relevant professional body (e.g. RICS) and experience in facilities management or property consultancy.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Willingness to travel when needed.
