IT Service Lifecycle Manager/IT Service Manager - Permanent - Birmingham (Hybrid)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an IT Service Lifecycle Manager/IT Service Manager to join our Birmingham based client on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead the service lifecycle to ensure IT services are scalable, sustainable, and aligned with business needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and design services that support both operational and strategic goals.
  • Manage and maintain the service portfolio, ensuring accurate, up-to-date information and alignment with organisational priorities.
  • Oversee the release management process, ensuring smooth, timely, and well-communicated software and service deployments.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure releases are tested, validated, and delivered with minimal disruption.
  • Manage change processes to ensure all updates to systems, services, and infrastructure are controlled, assessed, and implemented effectively.
  • Facilitate Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings and guide change prioritisation and approvals.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • ITIL Foundation v4 certification (preferred); advanced ITIL certifications desirable.
  • Strong background in IT Service Management, including service design, portfolio, release, and change management.
  • Solid experience delivering end-to-end service lifecycle management.
  • Expertise in Change and Release Management, including stakeholder communication, risk control, and post-implementation review.
  • Understanding of industry compliance, governance, and regulatory standards.
  • Proficiency in ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Remedy or similar).
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and manage expectations across teams and vendors.
