Vacancy Lead Youth Worker

Interested in working with young people and developing support for their needs?

As a Ross on Wye based youth charity, we are looking for someone who would like to lead a team of youth workers who work with teenagers at our evening drop-in youth club sessions. This person would lead a small team (usually 4 youth workers) who provide mentoring, support, music, cooking, indoor sports and craft / design activities for young people aged 11 – 17. Sessions are open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6 – 8pm.

As part of our ongoing development, we are particularly looking for a worker who would be interested in developing their skills and experience, training would be offered to the right candidate.

Whilst experience of similar roles is preferable, any experience of building positive relationships with young people will be of benefit. Most important is the ability to lead a a team, to be organised, reliable and to communicate well.

The successful candidate will work closely with and be supported by the Coordinator - a nominated member of the Trustees who has day to day responsibility for the smooth running of the club.

Responsibilities

  • Provide mentorship and support to youth, fostering personal growth and development.
  • Plan and implement engaging activities that promote learning and social skills.
  • Collaborate with educators and parents to address individual needs, including those requiring special education.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of youth, adjusting strategies as necessary.
  • Maintain a safe and positive environment for all participants.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From £13.40 per hour
