Job Title: Producibility Engineer - Strategic Improvements - Submarines

Working Pattern: Full time (Days)

What you will be doing:

An exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer has arisen within the New Build and Components team (NB&C) The Successful candidate will be responsible for driving strategic improvements aligned with the organisation's SQCDP (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People) objectives.

This role encompasses ownership of the manufacturing technical package—including drawings, methods of manufacture, technical instructions, and supporting specifications or procedures—as well as leading enhancements across broader manufacturing functions to increase throughput and reduce overall business costs.

Responsibilities:

With this exciting opportunity you will get a chance to be involved with the following:

  • Understand business and team objectives, and prioritise tasks to align with organisational goals.

  • Interpret engineering drawings and understand manufacturing processes, including safety and quality requirements in the nuclear industry.

  • Identify, evaluate, and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance throughput.

  • Build business cases for improvements, including cost–benefit analysis and project planning.

  • Lead and manage multiple improvement projects, collaborating with stakeholders across teams.

  • Communicate effectively with individuals and groups, presenting ideas clearly and professionally.

To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering backgrounds are both highly suitable for this role.

  • Professionally qualified engineer (e.g., minimum UK HND/Foundation Degree or recognised international equivalent).

  • Strong general understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to the organisation's operations.

  • Solid knowledge of core mechanical engineering principles.

  • Broad understanding of manufacturing engineering processes applicable to the role.

The professional level and the salary of the position will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines, you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don't currently already have this in place. Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, you must hold a UK nationality. Any dual nationals will require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work with RRSL.
