Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Sports & Physical Activity Coach to deliver engaging physical activity sessions at Northfield Primary School. The role includes a mix of lunchtime clubs, curriculum PE lessons, and after-school clubs, working with primary-aged children.

This is an ideal opportunity for coaches, PE specialists, sports graduates, or experienced activity leaders looking for regular school-based work.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging training sessions tailored to participants' age and ability levels
  • Provide clear instruction on techniques, rules, and strategies for various sports
  • Foster a positive environment that encourages teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship
  • Monitor participants' progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development
  • Deliver 1 lunchtime physical activity club
  • Deliver 2 x 1-hour curriculum PE lessons
  • Deliver 2 after-school sports/activity clubs
  • Plan and deliver fun, inclusive, and age-appropriate sessions
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children at all times
  • Manage behaviour positively and professionally
  • Set up and pack away equipment before and after sessions
  • Represent the organisation in a professional manner within the school environment

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sports coaching or teaching within a recognised organisation or programme
  • Confident delivering PE and sports-based activities
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate children of varying abilities
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional

Essential:

  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Coaching or PE qualification
  • First Aid certificate
  • Experience delivering school PE or clubs
