Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Lead to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental needs through engaging activities and personalised care. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your management and leadership skills while making a positive impact on children's early learning experiences. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with experience in childcare and early childhood education.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development
  • Foster a warm, welcoming environment that encourages children's curiosity and independence
  • Monitor and assess individual children's progress, providing feedback to parents and colleagues
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, and hygiene in the nursery setting
  • Support children with their daily routines, including meal times, toileting, and rest periods
  • Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, ensuring their safety at all times
  • Lead and manage a team of nursery staff, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress and any concerns
  • Contribute to the organisation of nursery activities, outings, and special events
  • Maintain accurate records of children's development and attendance

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood setting
  • Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team
  • Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education practices
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Childcare qualifications recognised by relevant authorities (e.g. EYT or QTS)
  • Ability to organise tasks efficiently whilst maintaining a caring approach towards children

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
