Landlord Liaison Officer

Northampton, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom North Northamptonshire Council Full time £35,000 - £55,000 per year

About The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen within North Northamptonshire Council's Housing Solutions Service for a Landlord Liaison Officer. This vital role will focus on developing and maintaining strong relationships with private landlords, letting agents, and other housing providers to improve access to the private rented sector and help prevent and relieve homelessness.

We offer a full 8-week induction and training school which is designed to help you learn the legal requirements of the role and the legislation that you will need to apply whilst gaining practical knowledge and key skills in homelessness prevention and case management. You will work alongside experienced professionals in a supportive environment whilst having the opportunity to learn from other key teams in the Housing Solutions service.

What Past Trainees Have Said
'The training school was excellent, as a new employee I was fortunate to have this experience'
'The whole training from start to finish was amazing, very well delivered and lots of opportunities to ask questions'
'The training was great, it gave me all the tools needed to feel confident in my post now'
What will you be doing?

You will work closely with the Senior Landlord Liaison Officer and wider housing teams to secure affordable, sustainable housing solutions for those in housing need. By supporting both landlords and tenants, you will help create successful tenancies and reduce the use and cost of temporary accommodation.

This is a dynamic and varied role where you will provide expert advice on tenancy sustainment, landlord responsibilities, and housing legislation. You will also contribute to service development, performance monitoring, and the delivery of innovative initiatives that support private sector access and tenancy sustainment.

About You
To succeed in this role, you will need excellent communication and negotiation skills, a good understanding of homelessness and private rented sector challenges, and the ability to work collaboratively and proactively in a fast-paced environment.

The role will require the post holder to operate across the North Northamptonshire area so access to a vehicle is essential.
