Trade Support Operative

Home Fix Scotland (HFS) is an experienced building and maintenance company based in Greenock, and we are currently recruiting for a skilled and motivated Trade Support Operative.

This post is a key operational role within our Repairs and Maintenance team, supporting trades colleagues to deliver high-quality property maintenance and improvement works. You will play an essential part in ensuring our homes are maintained to the highest standards and that customers receive excellent service.

  • Permanent
  • Salary: £28,007.20
  • 37 hours per week
  • Hours of work: Mon to Thurs 8am to 4.30pm and Fri 8.00am to 1.00pm
  • Company vehicle provided

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist trades operatives in delivering repairs, maintenance, and planned improvement works.
  • Support the delivery of programmed and cyclical services to ensure properties meet required standards.
  • Order and manage materials on-site to maximise efficiency.
  • Use mobile devices and IT systems to record and update job progress.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, including safe working at height and use of equipment.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in good condition and report defects promptly.
  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring tenants and residents are kept informed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and productivity targets within the team.

What We're Looking For:

  • Demonstrable experience in the building/construction industry.
  • Ability to assist across multiple trades and work proactively with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations, including safe use of ladders, scaffolding, and MEWP/PASMA training.
  • Asbestos awareness and safe use of safety harnesses.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers.
  • IT literacy, including use of mobile devices.
  • Full UK driving licence.
