We're working with a highly respected independent accountancy practice in Manchester that's growing quickly and looking to add an
Audit Senior
to its expanding team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified auditor who wants more responsibility, client interaction, and exposure to exciting, varied businesses, all within a firm that genuinely values work-life balance and career progression.

The Role

As an Audit Senior, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality audits for a diverse portfolio of clients across sectors including manufacturing, tech, retail, and professional services. You'll lead audit fieldwork, manage junior team members, and work closely with Audit Managers and Partners to ensure smooth delivery and excellent client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead audit assignments from planning to completion, reporting directly to Managers and Partners
  • Supervise, support, and review the work of junior team members
  • Prepare and review year-end financial statements under UK GAAP
  • Manage client relationships, acting as the main point of contact during audits
  • Identify and communicate audit risks and technical issues
  • Assist with training and development of audit trainees
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of audit processes and efficiency
  • Support ad hoc advisory and assurance projects

About You

  • ACA / ACCA qualified or part-qualified with strong audit experience in practice
  • Background in a UK accountancy practice environment
  • Confident leading audits and managing staff on-site and remotely
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Commercially aware with a client-focused approach
  • Proficient in cloud-based audit and accounting software (CaseWare, CCH, Xero etc.)

What's in it for you?

You'll be joining a firm that prioritises people, flexibility, and genuine progression, not just ticking boxes.

Benefits include:

  • Competitive salary based on experience and qualification
  • Hybrid working (typically 3 days in the office, 2 from home)
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays + your birthday off
  • Paid overtime or time off in lieu
  • Private medical insurance and enhanced wellbeing package
  • Pension contributions and life assurance scheme
  • Modern offices in central Manchester with excellent transport links
  • Full study support (if required) and continuous professional development
  • Clear, structured progression opportunities up to Audit Manager level
  • Regular team socials, firm-wide events, and volunteering initiatives
  • Supportive, collaborative culture with open communication and recognition

If you're looking to join a progressive Manchester firm where you'll be trusted with responsibility, supported in your development, and valued for your contribution then this could be the perfect move for you.
