Role Description

To identify, develop, and secure profitable sales opportunities across the full Sonardyne product portfolio, with a particular emphasis on the Ocean Science market and a short- to medium-term priority on accelerating ADCP product sales. The role will engage with both existing and prospective customers within defined geographic territories. The successful candidate will ensure the sales process is executed efficiently and effectively to maximize customer satisfaction, while strengthening Sonardyne's position as the supplier and partner of choice.

The Role and Role Specific Competencies


•     
To identify and achieve agreed sales levels of Sonardyne products to current and new customers across core and non-core markets, utilising innovative sales techniques and in-house technical resources to support and promote successful sales initiatives.

To coordinate and manage an efficient sales process from the creation of thorough and effective sales proposals, through to successful post-sales support arrangements, ensuring proposals are tenaciously progressed, the Sales Admin team within Sonardyne Aberdeen and Blackbushe are fully aware of requirements, technical queries are addressed with technical authorities across the Company and any project management requirements are fulfilled, maintaining the highest levels of customer satisfaction at all times.

To maintain awareness, understanding and compliance with all Sonardyne commercial processes and procedures including authority levels and discount agreements.


•     
To ensure all commercial contract terms and conditions received from customers are thoroughly reviewed at Regional level and with the Risk and Compliance in-house team, to ensure compliance with Sonardyne policies and risk management.

To identify and develop potential sales opportunities within new and current customers, specific focus in the short to medium term in ADCP applications and sales.


•     
To gather and present regular current status and future trends information relating to ADCP applications across multiple industries, markets, geographies, competitors, customers and industry peer activities/plans etc., liaising with appropriate Business Development Managers in order to inform and influence internal Company strategies including product development, commercial pricing and processes and marketing activities etc.


•     
To develop and maintain a network of industry, academic, research, governmental and trade organisation contacts through which to promote the Sonardyne brand, achieve/influence potential product sales and consider joint product/ project partnerships with particular focus on ADPC products.


•     
To provide regular and thorough Sales reports to the UK Head Office as agreed, to include: CRM updating of opportunities and contacts, visit reports, weekly updates for review in the UK Management Meeting, monthly activity/forecast analyses and quarterly updates.

To establish and build strong working relationships with internal staff across the Regions, Engineering, Marketing, Business Development, Survey Support, Production etc to progress operational sales requirements, feedback on product performance/new product and application requirements etc. with special focus on ADCP products and to promote a collaborative working style with timely two way communication and proactive planning.

To enhance the reputation and profile of Sonardyne, promoting the Company name, brand and capabilities through scheduled marketing activities, contacts with trade organisations and active participation in industry/market related events including contributing to publications/presentations of conference papers etc. with special focus on ADCP products.

Qualifications

  • Experience in sales, client interactions, and account management
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to build and maintain client relationships
  • Proficiency in conducting market research and preparing sales presentations
  • Good technical understanding of underwater or marine technologies is an advantage
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and results-driven approach to work
  • Ability to work on-site in Yateley and collaborate effectively with internal teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field is preferred
