Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Plumber/Gas Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in gas installations, maintenance, and repairs. As a Gas Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and efficiency of gas systems in residential and commercial properties. Your expertise will contribute to delivering high-quality service while adhering to industry regulations.

Duties

  • Install, maintain, and repair gas appliances and systems in compliance with safety standards.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of gas installations to ensure they meet regulatory requirements.
  • Assemble and fit components using hand tools and power tools.
  • Perform plumbing tasks as required, ensuring all connections are secure and leak-free.
  • Carry out heavy lifting as necessary for the installation and removal of equipment.
  • Utilise basic maths skills for measurements and calculations during installations.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople, including carpenters, to complete projects efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and report any issues to management.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Gas Engineer or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot gas systems effectively.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting when required.
  • A valid commercial driving licence is an advantage for transportation of equipment.
  • Familiarity with welding techniques is beneficial but not essential.
  • Basic maths skills for accurate measurements and calculations are required.
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in gas engineering are essential.
