Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled individual to join our team as a Cook. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality meals in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Your expertise in food preparation and safety will ensure that our culinary offerings meet the highest standards, while your experience in the kitchen will contribute to a harmonious and efficient working atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
- Assist in meal preparation for special events or catering services as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service and quality of meals.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to management.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices.
- Ensuring any residents needs are met and prepared in accordance to required modifications.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Strong understanding in modified diets.
- Previous care home experience is highly desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
- A passion for culinary arts and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
