The Role

As an Accounts Associate, you'll play a key role in delivering
statutory accounts
,
ad hoc compliance projects
, and
simple tax returns
, all while being guided by experienced professionals who are invested in your development. You'll also collaborate with our offshore teams, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities

Client / Technical Delivery

  • Produce accurate, non-complex accounts and tax returns for sole traders, partnerships, LLPs, and limited companies, in accordance with UK GAAP and with appropriate support as required.
  • Take time to understand the specific nature and needs of each client's business to provide tailored, effective service.
  • Proactively seek guidance and support from more experienced colleagues when needed to ensure quality and accuracy of work.
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner, meeting agreed deadlines and highlighting any issues early in the process. Update workflow systems at each key stage of delivery.
  • Seek and respond to feedback on work, applying lessons learned to continuously improve future outputs.
  • Support the onboarding and training of new Associates, as required, helping to build team knowledge and capability.
  • Liaise directly with clients to obtain the necessary information for accounts preparation, ensuring deadlines are met and communication remains clear.
  • Attend client meetings when required, representing the firm in a professional and informed manner.
  • Contribute to business development efforts by engaging with company marketing (e.g. LinkedIn), understanding firm services, and flagging client issues that may present new opportunities.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

  • Has a strong general education, ideally to A-Level or equivalent, providing a solid academic foundation.
  • Currently studying towards a recognised accounting qualification such as AAT, ACA, or ACCA, showing commitment to professional growth.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with confidence using Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Communicates clearly and confidently in both verbal and written formats, adapting style to suit the audience.
