We're seeking a highly skilled
Export Controls Expert
to ensure the organization's full compliance with UK and international export control regulations.

This role is critical in managing export licences, developing robust policies, conducting thorough audits, and providing expert guidance on the export of goods, technology, and software.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Supply Chain, Legal, Project Management and R&D, to mitigate risks associated with export compliance and support Global-e's strategic objectives.

Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure all export activities comply with UK and international export control, customs legislation and global sanctions.
  • Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations and implement necessary updates in internal processes.

Policy & Procedures Development:

  • Design, implement, and oversee export control policies, procedures, and controls to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.

Due Diligence & Transaction Review:

  • Assess transactions, technology transfers, and shipments to determine regulatory impact and identify potential risks.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all compliance activities.

Internal & External Audits:

  • Lead and support audits, addressing findings and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.

Reporting:

  • Prepare and submit compliance reports to UK and international regulatory bodies as required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in export controls and compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK and EU export regulations and compliance requirements - Must
  • Prior in-house experience within a corporate environment- An advantage
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to assess complex regulatory environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey compliance concepts clearly.
  • Proficiency in compliance management software and tools is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
