London, Greater London, United Kingdom Amazon Full time
The AWS Infrastructure organization is looking for a results-oriented, BI focused, capacity planning leader . Based in our Dublin offices, data center capacity planning owns the supply plan for data center power and space in response to the customer forecasts. We own initiatives to model and improve the utilization of our power, cooling and space infrastructure in our data centers so that we are generating capacity at the lowest possible cost and delivering for customers.

In this role you will work closely with demand planning, finance, construction, and software development and global program management teams to deliver high quality and robust capacity planning processes and strategies, with favorable business outcomes. You will identify defects or waste in our planning processes, and drive new processes and automation steps to eliminate the defects and prevent them from recurring without posing risk to availability.

In this role you will;

• Take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces

• Clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote teams

• Be responsible for end-to-end program delivery of process improvement projects and data modelling exercises

• Support continuous process improvement through leading workflow updates, documenting & implementing lessons learned and sharing knowledge across delivery teams to ensure EMEA wide efficiency improvements

• Regularly report to senior leadership on status of key project metrics vs. commitment of your projects.

Our Capacity Planning Managers work in collaborative, cross-functional environments and work backwards from the needs of internal and external customers to create solutions that work for upstream and downstream teams as well as data center capacity planning. They are part of high functioning teams and are committed to process improvement and analyzing large data sets to communicate clear and concise insights.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we're looking for talented people who want to help.

You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Key job responsibilities
Design and maintain BI dashboards for data center capacity planning and utilization
Develop predictive models for power, cooling, and space requirements using QuickSight/Tableau
Create automated reporting systems for capacity vs. demand analysis
Lead cross-functional data initiatives spanning infrastructure planning and business intelligence
