The Role

As a
Structural Steel and Architectural Metalwork Site Fitter
at CL Fabrications, you will be responsible for installing structural steelwork, balconies, staircases and bespoke architectural metalwork at client sites. You will lead a small team on-site, liaise directly with customers and ensure all work meets both technical and safety standards.

This is a hands-on role with variety, responsibility, and real satisfaction in seeing projects completed to perfection. A
full UK driving licence
and strong attention to detail are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Erect structural steelwork, including balconies (stack, cantilever, recess, Juliette).
  • Install architectural metalwork such as stair balustrades, railings, handrails, and staircases.
  • Fit glass and decking products (timber composites and aluminium).
  • Read and interpret detailed drawings with accurate setting out.
  • Lead a two-person team, usually with a labourer.
  • Solve technical problems on-site efficiently.
  • Deliver a high-quality finish on all work.
  • Deliver products and liaise with customers on-site.
  • Complete and obtain all required paperwork.
  • Follow safe systems of work and promote a positive safety culture.
  • Complete training as required to maintain skills and compliance.

  • CSCS Skilled NVQ Level 2 Architectural Metalwork or Steel Erecting - Required.
