Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Senior Delegated Claims Examiner in our UK Delegated Claims team.

In this role, you'll manage a portfolio of delegated claims arrangements, including all aspects of onboarding, oversight, and operational performance. Ensure compliance with Sompo standards and local regulatory requirements, managing run-off portfolios, and facilitating the transition of claims handling to new arrangements.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading the end-to-end onboarding process for a portfolio of delegated claims handling arrangements
  • Collaborate with delegated underwriting, legal, and compliance teams to ensure that all agreements align with internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Support the Delegated Claims Manager in developing and implementing onboarding workflows to ensure a seamless integration of new delegated claims arrangements
  • Conduct due diligence on delegated claims arrangements
  • Establish reporting and data-sharing dashboard requirements with our delegated claims arrangements
  • For a portfolio of delegated claims arrangements, act as the primary point of contact for ongoing oversight
  • Monitor performance against agreed service levels
  • Review and analyze delegated claims data to identify trends, anomalies, or areas requiring improvement
  • Provide regular performance feedback to delegated claims arrangements and escalate significant issues to the Delegated Claims Manager
  • Support the Delegated Claims Manager in conducting a delegated claims risk assessment to determine and prioritize the annual audit schedule
  • Work closely with an external audit panel, ensuring our annual audit schedule is met
  • Facilitate pre-audit assessments with claims and our external audit panel
  • Attend audit fieldwork wrap-up meetings and ensure final reporting SLAs are met
  • Review audit reports for quality and adherence to Sompo's delegated claims audit scope
  • Be responsible for audit Key Stakeholder management and closing audit subjectivities, collaborating with delegated claims arrangements to address identified gaps or weaknesses.  Ensure corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of regulatory changes and their potential impact on delegated claims arrangements
  • Support the run-off of delegated claims portfolios and ensure open claims are continued to be handled efficiently and in line with company standards
  • Support the process of transferring claims handling responsibilities to a new delegated claims arrangement or in-house claims teams

What you'll bring:

  • Extensive experience working within an insurance company or a Lloyd's managing agent
  • Comprehensive understanding of delegated claims arrangements, regulatory compliance requirements, and conducting due diligence on MGAs and TPAs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels in the organization
  • Ability to deliver outputs based on given priorities, achieving tasks within tight deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and integrity
