Operations Lead

The Fintech Blueprint is an established research and insights platform with over 400,000 subscribers, focused on the Machine Economy — the emerging intersection of finance, AI, and digital asset infrastructure. We publish deep-dive analysis, convene founders and investors, and support a global community shaping the next evolution of market structure and financial technology.

We are seeking an Operations Lead to oversee the day-to-day operations of the platform. The role is well-suited to a professional who values operational excellence, clear structure, and work-life balance. You will coordinate contractors, maintain sponsor and financial processes, and ensure publishing and community rhythms run reliably and professionally.

This is a role with real responsibility and significant autonomy, within a small and focused organization. The direction and editorial framework are established; your role is to ensure the system runs clearly and consistently. Candidates will be familiar with fintech, crypto, and artificial intelligence industries, and have a passion for technology and creative media. Key Responsibilities

Operational Oversight

Manage the operating cadence of The Fintech Blueprint, including scheduling, publishing workflows, and coordination among contributors and contractors. Oversee light editorial workflow, including recruiting external contributors, reviewing drafts for alignment with The Fintech Blueprint's themes, and maintaining a steady pipeline of high-quality written pieces.

Commercial Stability

Support the commercial stability of The Fintech Blueprint through maintaining relationships with existing sponsors, preparing renewal discussions on an annual cycle, and evaluating inbound partnership opportunities to ensure they align with the Blueprint's focus. Success is measured by sponsor satisfaction and operational continuity. Ability to grow the commercial footprint and manage our sales team is a plus.

Financial Administration

Oversee invoicing, contractor payments, expense tracking, and accounting/bookkeeping. Support preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting, budget visibility, and annual filings with accuracy and timeliness.

Platform Continuity

Ensure that the platform's publishing schedule and community touchpoints occur on a predictable and stable rhythm. Maintain documentation, operational notes, and vendor relationships. Implement improvements that increase efficiency while preserving quality and maintaining sustainable work patterns.

Candidate Profile

This role suits a thoughtful, organized operator with experience in research, publishing, venture platform operations, consulting, or professional services. The ideal candidate is steady, reliable, and enjoys ensuring systems run smoothly.

Previously, Lex held the roles of Chief Economist, Chief Marketing Officer, and Global Fintech Co-Head at Consensys, a leading Web3 blockchain software company, where he focused on protocol cryptoeconomics, digital assets, public and private blockchains, decentralized finance, and DAOs. Prior, he was the Global Director of Fintech Strategy at Autonomous Research, an equity research firm serving institutional investors, where he covered artificial intelligence, blockchain, neobanks, digital lenders, roboadvisors, payments, insurtech, and mixed reality. Before Autonomous, Lex was Chief Operating Officer at AdvisorEngine, a digital wealthtech platform, and CEO of NestEgg Wealth, a roboadvisor that partnered with financial advisors. Lex started his career in investment management and banking at Barclays, Lehman Brothers, and Deutsche Bank.

Lex has contributed to the Wall Street Journal, the Economist, Bloomberg, FT, Reuters, Coindesk, American Banker, ThinkAdvisor, Investment News, among others. His industry newsletter, the Fintech Blueprint, reaches over 200,000 subscribers. Lex earned a JD/MBA from Columbia University and a B.A. in Economics and Law from Amherst College.
