The BT group operates a 3 together, 2 wherever working model. This means you are required to be at your contractual location 3 days a week with 2 flexible days per week.

The Scope

The role holder will perform a key role managing a critical component of the Ethernet and UK Business connectivity portfolio in terms of Fibre access into 21C.

The role primarily covers owning the EAD Fibre access capability that is consumed into the 21C Harmonised Ethernet platform. In addition, the role holder will also manage Etherway Exchange Connect which consumes internal cablelink from Openreach.

Fibre access in consumed into all UK business connectivity portfolios and is the largest (volume and value) and most critical access capability. The role holder will own the in-life management for Fibre access including taking a lead role in engaging with the Networks CACOR squad and wider stakeholders in reviewing and assessing potential Openreach consumption requirements.

The role holder will also work with the connectivity teams within Networks to assess and prioritise Openreach consumption developments and wider strategy to maximise capability and opportunities for BT Business portfolios, as well as working closed with the Converged Core Networks teams to optimise fibre capacity and capability across the 21C network.

What you'll be doing

Manage in-life performance of Fibre access products and capabilities, driving efficiencies and optimising cost base.

Define and maintain product requirements, ensuring alignment across business connectivity portfolios.

Enhance and improve existing products as part of ongoing lifecycle management.

Shape the product journey and customer experience in collaboration with design teams.

Monitor market trends and supplier developments to maximise consumption and maintain competitiveness.

Develop and deliver product roadmaps, migration plans, and financial management to achieve return on investment.

Experience needed to be successful in the role

Proven ability to plan strategically and manage products throughout their lifecycle.

Deep technical expertise in Ethernet-based services and Internet markets.

Strong understanding of technology trends and how they impact business connectivity solutions.

Commercial acumen to assess trade-offs, manage risks, and recommend investments aligned with business outcomes.

Credibility and experience engaging with industry forums, customers, and stakeholders.

Experience in product and solution development and knowledge of how convergence affects product design.
