Why Spring Nurseries

Imagine a place where laughter echoes, imaginations run wild, and every day is a new adventure. That's Spring Nursery We're not just a nursery; we are a family dedicated to creating a joyful and nurturing environment where children thrive. As part of Action for Children, we're on a mission to provide outstanding early education that's accessible to all.

At Spring, we are committed to supporting your career growth Check out our Spring Career Progression Map attached to this advert, which highlights the options for progression into a specialist role.

A bit about the role

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Early Years Teacher with QTS to join our nursery team. This role is central to the learning and development of the children in our preschool room, where you will support them through an important stage of their early education and help prepare them for a confident and successful transition into school.

As the Early Years Teacher, you will take responsibility for shaping the educational direction of the preschool room. You will plan, deliver, and evaluate a high-quality curriculum that reflects the EYFS and meets the needs of each child, ensuring learning is purposeful, developmentally appropriate, and carefully scaffolded.  You will observe and assess children's progress, use the information to guide next steps, and ensure that every child is supported to reach their full potential.

You will model best practise for the team, guiding practitioners in delivering consistent, high-quality interactions, and supporting their understanding of child development.  You will work closely with the manager and deputy manager to review and enhance the learning environment, maintain strong teaching and learning standards, and contribute to the nurseries ongoing quality improvement.  This includes helping to embed reflective practise, supporting planning processes, and ensuring the curriculum remains engaging, inclusive, and aligned with the settings ethos.

A bit about the setting

Spring Cedars nursery is a place where every day feels like an adventure. It is a vibrant, home from home setting where imaginations thrive, songs filled the air, and muddy boots are warm with pride.  Children are encouraged to explore with purpose, play with confidence, and express themselves freely because early learning should always carry a sense of magic and wonder.

The nursery has recently undergone an exciting renovation and will be reopening in January 2026 with beautifully refreshed spaces that are bright inspiring, and full of possibility. The new environment has been thoughtfully designed to spark curiosity while still maintaining the warm calm and nurturing atmosphere that families know and love.  Alongside the inviting indoor areas, the large outdoor garden offers children endless opportunities to climb, dig, imagine, and discover the world around them in a natural and stimulating setting.

In the role of Early Years Teacher, you'll be:

  • Leading the curriculum across a setting and ensuring high quality EYFS practise
  • Supporting and guiding practitioners to develop strong teaching and learning.
  • Monitoring children's progress, analysing data trends, and using this to inform practise.
  • Supporting the manager jury inspections, particularly around curriculum and outcomes.
  • Overseeing planning, room organisation, and provision to meet children's individual needs including SEN

What we need from you

In the role of Early Years Teacher, we're ideally looking for someone who has:

  • A recognised Early Years Initial Teacher Qualification (EYTS/QTS) Willingness to work towards it; EYITT eligibility with a relevant degree and GCSE English and maths (C/4+) or equivalent.
  • Valid paediatric first aid certificate, enhanced DBS, and basic food hygiene (or willingness to obtain these)
  • Experience working in leading within an earlier or school setting, with strong skills in planning, observation, assessment, and reflective practise.
  • Excellent up-to-date knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and solid understanding of child development from 0-5 years
  • confident supporting children with SEND, with awareness of statutory requirements and inclusive practice.
  • A clear understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and health and safety within early years.
  • Strong digital skills for recording learning, planning, communication, and using online systems effectively.
