Ground Worker

Pickersgill Groundworks and Landscapes Ltd are a small but fast growing Groundworks and Landscaping business situated in the Ripon and surrounding area. We are excited to offer the following position (s) to the right candidates.

Groundworker

This is an immediate starting vacancy, subject to pre-start interview. Full time – permanent, or CIS (construction industry scheme). Self employed considered.

Must have 10 years experience in groundworks.

CSCS / CPCS / SMSTS and Streetworks qualification.

Works vehicle can be supplied to the right applicant. Must have a full clean driving license and potentially a braked trailer license.

Rates of pay will be in line with the relevant experience and training £24 - £30 per hour

Your new role

Leading and working as part of a team doing all aspects of groundworks, such as:

• Deep Drainage
• Roads & Sewers
• Plot works & finishing
• Reading and working to plans
• General groundworks
• Kerbing
• Drainage/trenches
• Concreting
• Pipe laying
• Foundations
• Operating machinery
• General site duties
• Block Paving
• Paving

Perform various manual labour tasks to support construction and maintenance projects:

• Excavation, trenching, backfilling, operate hand tools and power equipment such as jackhammers, shovels, and compactors
• Install and repair underground utilities, including water and sewer lines
• Installation of concrete forms and pouring of concrete
• Installation of landscaping features such as sidewalks, curbs, and retaining walls
• Clean and maintain work areas to ensure a safe and organized environment

Skills:

• Strong physical stamina and ability to perform manual labour for extended periods of time
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
• Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment
• Attention to detail and ability to work with precision
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers
