Job purpose:

To assist with various tasks that will help the employer who needs care and support in living their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.

About the employer:

I'm a 33-year-old female living in the B98 area of Redditch. I'm looking to recruit a Personal Assistant to help me with my daytime routine for 5 hours per week. Please consider childcare if you have young children.

I have Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy and require support with transfers using a ceiling hoist.

Main duties:

Personal care: Assisting with all personal care, transfers using a ceiling hoist, and assisting with medication.

These duties may vary from day to day.

Type of person that I'm looking for:

Values: Someone who is honest, reliable, committed, punctual, non-judgemental, able to build good relationships based on trust and respect, flexible, adaptable, easy-going, able to work alone, positive, willing to travel, understands equality and diversity and has a good sense of humour.

Willing to cover someone else who is off sick or on holiday.

Specific requirements: Previous care experience would help, but it's not mandatory. An Enhanced DBS check will be required. PPE will be supplied to wear, and be willing to pitch in if Other: Due to the nature of this role, including personal care, the potential employer will only consider female applicants.

Hours of work: 5 hours per week – plus covering sickness and holidays.

Teatimes:

Tuesday - 6.00pm - 7.00pm

Friday - 6.00pm - 7.00pm

Saturday - 6.00pm - 7.00pm

Sunday pm

Bedtime:

Friday pm

Other hours: Covering basis

Mornings: Mon - Sun

9:00am /10.30

Lunchtimes: Mon - Sun

1.30pm - 2.00pm

Bedtimes: Mon - Thurs + Weekends

Rate of pay: £12.50 per hour Monday-Friday £13.10per hour Saturday £17.20per hour Sundays

Requirements:

Based in Redditch or local to the area

Willing to step in if someone is off sick or on holiday

Previous care experience - but not necessary

Full clean UK Driving Licence

Experienced in using a hoist or a Molift - but not necessary

Able to provide at least two references, if possible

Enhanced DBS Check is required (Cost covered by local authority)

Must be good with dogs

Must be willing/able to work during Christmas and bank holidays

Successful applicants will require DBS checks & Employment References.

This role is funded by the Local Authority and is paid 5 weekly for a 4 weekly period.
