Leading UK Manufacturer – Home Improvement & Building Products

Our client is a market-leading manufacturer in the home improvement and building products sector, supplying major retailers, trade partners, and installers across the UK. With a strong reputation for quality, innovation and reliability, the business is now seeking a Customer Service Manager to lead and develop its customer service function.

Reporting to the Operations Director, you will take full responsibility for the performance, capability and culture of a multi-site customer service team. Your focus will be on ensuring customers receive the highest levels of support — right first time, on time — while creating the systems and behaviours that deliver continuous improvement across the customer journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach and develop a team delivering outstanding service to trade and retail customers.
  • Implement performance metrics around OTIF, RFT, NPS/CSAT and complaint resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Technical and Sales teams to ensure seamless order fulfilment.
  • Introduce structured customer feedback and service improvement initiatives.
  • Drive the adoption of improved systems and digital tools to enhance response and efficiency.
  • Represent the "voice of the customer" at management level and contribute to strategic planning.

About You:

You'll be an experienced customer service leader from a manufacturing, construction products or trade supply environment, used to managing both people and process in a fast-moving setting. Commercially astute and highly organised, you combine empathy and authority to deliver results through your team.
