The role
What you'll be doing:
- Managing the repairs, maintenance, refurbishments, and voids across Southwark's extensive garage portfolio.
- Conducting regular inspections, ensuring compliance with non-residential tenancy agreements.
- Leading on stock condition monitoring and organising timely repairs or major works.
- Overseeing service and maintenance contracts to guarantee compliance, quality, and safety.
- Collaborating with internal teams across the council to resolve issues and improve service delivery.
- Driving performance against budgets and targets, ensuring value for money and efficiency.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Surveying (HND or equivalent) qualification, or substantial relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of repairs, maintenance, contracts, and voids management.
- A clear understanding of Health & Safety and Fire Safety in non-residential properties.
- Excellent decision-making and analytical skills with a focus on outcomes.
- Ability to prioritise, manage deadlines, and handle conflicting priorities.
- Strong customer focus and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and confident working on your own initiative.
- A confident communicator with a diplomatic yet assertive approach
- Enjoy a balanced approach with flexible home working, alongside occasional travel to our London Bridge HQ.
