We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our nursery. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for early childhood education and child development. This role offers an opportunity to lead a team of childcare professionals, ensure a safe and nurturing environment for children, and promote the organisation's commitment to high-quality early years provision.
Duties
- Manage the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to all regulatory standards
- Lead, motivate, and supervise nursery staff to deliver exceptional childcare services
- Develop and implement educational programmes that support children's developmental needs
- Maintain effective communication with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress and wellbeing
- Organise staff rotas, training, and professional development activities
- Ensure health and safety policies are strictly followed, creating a safe environment for children and staff
- Oversee the organisation of activities, outings, and special events within the nursery
- Manage administrative tasks including record keeping, budgeting, and compliance documentation
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and operational efficiency
- Act as a Designated Safeguarding Lead for the setting
Qualifications
- Proven experience in nursery management or early childhood education roles
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire a team
- Extensive experience working with children in childcare or nursery settings
- Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Valid driving licence is desirable for attending external meetings or events
- Level 5 or 6 in Early Years. Level 3 will be considered with previous experience and willingness to continue qualifications.
- Ability to organise tasks efficiently whilst maintaining a nurturing environment for children
- SENCo training desirable as this may be included in the role
Favours Day Nursery is committed to its safer recruitment procedures and safeguarding children policy. An enhanced DBS and references are required for this position.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: Up to £17.50 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
