Help us create a better future, quicker

At SP Energy Networks, we're shaping the future to meet the growing demand for electricity and low-carbon technology. Our mission is to deliver safe, secure, and sustainable energy solutions for the communities we serve. People are at the heart of this transformation, and we're looking for talented individuals to join us.

We are recruiting a Project Coordinator to join our Distribution business within SP Energy Networks. Working as part of the Design Support team, you will play a key role in the design and planning of the district distribution network, ensuring system stewardship, network security, and integrity at all times. You will undertake system analysis to determine generation connection feasibility, identify network alterations and reinforcement requirements, and develop solutions in line with Asset Management policies and customer requirements.

What you'll be doing

  • Responsible for the regulatory aspects of managing generation connection requests and providing ok to connect confirmations or quotations, ensuring processes and reporting arrangements meet regulatory and licence requirements.
  • Integrate asset stewardship values through sound engineering principles, coordinated planning, design, and ownership to improve integrity, safety, and longevity of the electrical network while delivering minimum scheme costs for customer connections.
  • Drive continual performance improvement through analysis of outputs and feedback from internal and external sources.
  • Consider innovative solutions in all designs—whether technological, procedural, or commercial.
  • Produce designs in accordance with unit or authorised prime costs to enable efficient delivery of outputs, where necessary.
  • Develop and maintain robust stakeholder and customer relationships to facilitate delivery of strategic objectives.
  • Promote an exemplary safety culture, ensuring all safety legislation is implemented and incorporated into project designs.
  • Analyse customer documentation to ensure accurate and complete information for generation connections.
  • Provide sound advice to customers regarding generation connection onto the electrical network.

What you will bring

You will have worked in a Programme/Project Coordinator role or similar and have demonstrable experience of effectively delivering projects and/or initiatives.

  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment, including relevant output and incentive mechanisms.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to balance customer service and efficient network design, ensuring maximum return on investment.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate and present information effectively at all levels.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities using sound engineering and financial judgment to determine optimal solutions.
  • Awareness of key business drivers and the external commercial context in which ScottishPower operates.
  • Ability to devise solutions to complex problems and challenges.
  • Awareness of generation connections onto an electrical network and associated controls.

Minimum Criteria

  • Experience in a project delivery role, network design role, or similar.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
