Contract: 41 weeks per year

Hours: 25 Hours per week

Annual Salary (per shift): £15,480.88

Shifts Available:

  • Shift 1: 07:00 – 12:00
  • Shift 2: 13:00 – 18:00

(Two vacancies – one per shift)

About the Role

Are you practical, reliable, and enjoy being part of a close-knit team?

Dovecote School is looking for two Relief Drivers with Vehicle Maintenance Support responsibilities to help keep our students moving safely and our fleet running smoothly.

You'll play a key role in our transport team — combining daily driving duties with light maintenance tasks, ensuring vehicles are roadworthy, and handing over seamlessly between shifts.

What You'll Do

  • Transport students safely on established school routes.
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance tasks.
  • Drop off and collect vehicles for off-site servicing, MOTs, and repairs.
  • Maintain accurate handover notes and records between shifts.
  • Support with general site and transport operations.
  • Promote safety, respect, and inclusion at all times.

What We're Looking For

  • Full UK manual driving licence (D1 desirable).
  • Basic mechanical or maintenance experience.
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A caring, professional attitude towards students and colleagues.
