Job Description

The Senior Manager of Regional Consumer Research & Insights is a new position within Sandisk's Global Consumer Insights & Analytics ("CIA") function. The mission of CIA is to enable our "Consumer at the Center" strategy, by driving consumer centricity into decision-making that drives company growth. This regional research role will be responsible for working with the regional Sales & Marketing teams to identify consumer & shopper learning needs, execute associated learning plans, and deliver critical consumer and market insights.  This work will involve deeply understanding shopper journeys for key retailers and channels, as well as working across the global CIA team to identify and deliver critical learning to the region at Sales Training events and otherwise as needed through the year.

We are seeking a proactive, collaborative leader with cross-functional insights experience and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  You must possess strong leadership qualities, take ownership of the learning agenda for the regional Sales and Marketing teams at Sandisk, establish best practices, and build strong partnerships across the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the development and execution of consumer and shopper learning plans focused on shopper journeys and regional shopper behavior, inclusive of qualitative and quantitative primary research and analysis of market data and reports, on time and on budget,
  • Represent Consumer Insights & Analytics (CIA) function at Sandisk for the regional Product and Marketing teams across all product segments (SSDs internal/external, USB, cards, accessories),
  • Lead regional "shopper journeys" data and insights to inform go-to-market plan optimization,
  • Partner with the Marketing team to lead Media and Campaign effectiveness measurement, and
  • Choose and nurture relationships with key suppliers/vendors for core research work.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years relevant experience in a consumer-facing organization (technology, consumer electronics, or CPG industries preferred), with demonstrated abilities to translate business objectives into consumer learning plans, and
  • A mastery of primary research execution tools and applications, including experience in both deep qualitative research and quantitative research/data analysis, consumer-generated data, and market data.

SKILLS:

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to generate, summarize, and persuasively communicate data in terms of insights and consumer "stories,"
  • The ideal candidate will be a proactive thought leader with strong verbal/communications skills and a thoughtful and persuasive personal style,
  • Ability to distill complex and at times contradictory consumer data and insights into compelling, data-based stories and recommendations,
  • Confidence and presence collaborating with and presenting to marketing & sales teams and leadership,
  • Ability to effectively manage projects at both the strategic and executional level,
  • Ability to lead a relationship and manage outcomes with suppliers, and
  • A self-starter comfortable in a project-oriented, high-growth environment.
  • Proficiency in DIY quantitative platforms, market data (e.g., IRI, Circana) and MS Office capabilities. Programming skills and languages not necessary but welcomed.
