In a nutshell 
Behind every safe, smooth, and efficient Virgin Atlantic flight is a perfectly planned roster. As our Specialist – Planning and Rostering, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our flight and cabin crew are rostered and trained to meet operational, regulatory, and safety standards.

Working within our Crew Logistics team, you'll combine analytical precision with a human touch, balancing crew satisfaction with operational excellence. From using advanced planning tools like AIMS and Jeppesen to managing complex training schedules and flight time regulations, you'll make sure every flight is supported by the right people, at the right time, with the right qualifications.

This role is an opportunity to influence one of the airline's most critical operational areas, supporting crew establishment budget while helping to keep our people flying safely and happily.

Day to day

• Create compliant and optimised rosters for flight and cabin crew using systems such as AIMS and Jeppesen.
• Plan and schedule crew training programmes, ensuring all mandatory and recurrent training is completed on time.
• Coordinate with training departments, instructors, and facilities to manage the logistics behind every course.
• Monitor and track qualifications, expiries, and refresher training to maintain full operational compliance.
• Collaborate across departments – including Operations, HR, and Training – to align roster and business needs.
• Respond to crew queries with clarity and care, ensuring transparency and satisfaction across the team.
• Produce data-driven reports and insights to support leadership decision-making and identify optimisation opportunities.
• Lead and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and user acceptance testing (UAT) for system enhancements.

About you

• Experience in crew rostering, scheduling, or operational planning within the airline industry (2+ years preferred).
• Proficient in AIMS and/or Jeppesen, with a strong understanding of crew FTLs, FRM, and CAA regulations.
• Knowledge of pilot and cabin crew training processes, sequencing, and qualification management.
• Analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage complexity and adapt quickly to change.
• A confident communicator who thrives in collaborative environments, working across multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for data handling and reporting.
• Willingness to work occasional weekends, evenings, or on-call shifts to support operational needs.
