Overview
What we're Looking For
Someone who can:
- Lead innovation delivery from concept through to prototype and adoption
- Bring structure to experimentation (e.g. trials, PoCs, vendor evaluations)
- Translate technical innovation into real business value
- Work well across legal, technology, and business service teams
- Manage AI/tech adoption safely, with compliance at the forefront
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Delivery
- Lead AI and innovation initiatives aligned with business goals
- Own delivery of trials, prototypes, and tech adoption plans
- Prioritise and shape the innovation backlog in collaboration with the Head of Innovation
- Drive PoCs with third-party vendors, ensuring architectural and security fit
Solution Architecture & Tech Oversight
- Apply architecture thinking to AI and emerging tech use cases
- Ensure upstream/downstream dependencies are understood and managed
- Evaluate tools/platforms for long-term fit (e.g. Copilot, LLMs, automation tools)
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with execs (CIO, COO, partners) to secure buy-in
- Communicate complex technical concepts in simple business terms
- Support training, adoption, and change communication
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure AI and innovation projects meet legal, regulatory, and security standards
- Promote responsible use of AI aligned with ISO/IEC 42001:2023 and ISO 27001
Horizon Scanning
- Stay ahead of trends in AI and legal tech
- Make informed recommendations on emerging tech/tools
Candidate Profile
Must have:
- Deep understanding of
AI, GenAI, NLP, LLMs, ML
, and legal-specific AI use cases - Experience in
solution architecture
, product design, or innovation delivery - Strong grasp of
compliance, governance, and data ethics - Comfortable running short innovation trials and leading PoCs
- Stakeholder management experience up to
C-suite level - Experience in a
regulated and complex business environment
(e.g. legal, finance, healthcare) - Familiarity with
Microsoft Copilot, LLM integrations
, and automation platforms
Nice to have:
- Background in
legal tech
or professional services - Experience leading small cross-functional teams in a
matrix setup
