About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
Verification and Validation (V&V) Engineer
to join a leading organisation within the
space and satellite sector
. The successful candidate will play a key role in the end-to-end verification and validation of complex spacecraft systems, ensuring that design, functionality, and performance meet customer and mission requirements.
You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams across Systems Engineering, Integration & Test, and Quality to deliver high-assurance verification strategies and test campaigns on cutting-edge space programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute
verification and validation plans
, strategies, and procedures for spacecraft subsystems and systems. - Define and manage
requirements traceability
, ensuring complete coverage from system-level specifications through to final test results. - Support
test readiness reviews
,
qualification
, and
acceptance testing
activities. - Participate in
integration, environmental testing (thermal vacuum, vibration, EMC)
, and system-level validation. - Analyse test data and produce
verification reports
, test summaries, and compliance matrices. - Work collaboratively with design and systems teams to identify, investigate, and resolve anomalies.
- Ensure all V&V activities comply with project, customer, and regulatory standards (e.g., ECSS, DOORS, ISO).
Essential Skills & Experience
- Active UK Security Clearance (SC or higher)

Verification & Validation Engineer

Test Engineer
, or
Systems Engineer
within the
space, satellite, or aerospace sector
. - Strong understanding of
systems engineering lifecycles
, including requirements management and validation methodologies. - Experience with tools such as
IBM DOORS
,
MATLAB
, or similar for requirements traceability and data analysis. - Hands-on experience in
hardware/software integration and system testing
. - Knowledge of
space industry standards
(ECSS, ESA processes, etc.). - Excellent analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Desirable
- Experience with
payloads, avionics, or propulsion systems
. - Exposure to
environmental test facilities
and
automated test systems
. - Degree-qualified in
Aerospace, Electrical, Systems, or Mechanical Engineering
(or equivalent).
