This position involves delivering high-quality reactive repairs and maintenance for our out-of-hours contract. Candidates must be available to work evenings and weekends to meet weekly hour requirements.

You will be expected to show your enthusiasm to provide excellent general building maintenance and show an eagerness and willingness to assist on all matters for a range of projects.

You will typically have a varied project workload including residential and commercial properties. You will have demonstrable multi-skilled experience and capabilities within the construction industry.

Ø Carry out a variety of planned and reactive building maintenance tasks, which will be varied in nature and will include general building, joinery, plumbing, tiling, painting, and external works.

Ø Fitting, repair and replacement of ironmongery such as locks, lock cylinders, digital locks, and solenoid locks, restrictors, hinges and other security devices.

Ø Fitting, adjustment, repairs of overhead, transom and floor door closures.

Ø Fire precaution works, including replacement of panic escape ironmongery, fire blankets, fire separation, signage. Upgrading of doors, frames, ducts and voids to meet legislation.

Ø Carry out maintenance in residential properties and commercial properties including Council and Healthcare owned assets.

Ø Undertake general facilities tasks including grounds and site cleaning and keeping areas clean and tidy generally.

Ø Work individually or as part of a team to complete repair and maintenance tasks in line with set programmes.

Ø Manage and prioritise own workload in order to complete repairs in a timely manner and in accordance with timescales agreed with clients.

Ø Use relevant IT systems to record all work undertaken and related expenditure.

Ø Adhere to health and safety policy and procedures, identify hazards and undertake work risk assessments as required.

Ø Communicate effectively with building occupiers to minimum inconvenience when planning and undertaking building maintenance.

Ø Carry out other such duties as required or delegated by senior management team.

To ensure that Health and Safety legislation is complied with at all times, including COSHH, Workplace Risk Assessment and Control of Infection.

City and Guilds craft certificate in construction trade or a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in a relevant trade or in multi-trade building maintenance operations

City and Guilds advanced craft certificate in construction trade, or a Level 3 NVQ Diploma in a relevant trade or in multi-trade building maintenance operations.

Multi-Trade skills qualification or similar certificates of competence

Minimum 2 years' experience in building trade role or property maintenance role

Experience of completing multi skilled work including fire prevention works

Good standard of literacy and numeracy

Effective communication skills with the ability to provide clear verbal and written information relative to building maintenance activities.

Good time management with proven ability to meet deadlines and prioritise work as necessary to deal with multiple and competing demands on a regular basis.

Excellent interpersonal skills

IT competent

Strong collaborative approach and team ethic

This is a National role. Travel will be required to sites as agreed with the Senior Management Team. Our Head Office is at Unit 4, The Crossroads Business Park, Freckleton St, Kirkham, Preston, PR4 2SH.

Full clean driving licence required.
