Role Description

We're seeking a Project Manager with multidisciplinary expertise in fire engineering, water hygiene, asbestos management. You'll lead the delivery of construction and refurbishment projects, ensuring structural integrity while embedding compliance with Building Regulations, British Standards, and statutory safety frameworks. The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the planning, execution, and delivery of assigned projects within the programme. Working under the guidance of the Programme Manager (Prog Mgr), the PM ensures that project objectives are met on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The PM is the primary point of contact for project stakeholders and coordinates with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure successful delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • A high level of understanding on integrating fire strategies into structural design and construction, ensuring compliance with Part B, Regulation 38, BS 9999.
  • Overseeing site inspections and verifying installation of fire protection systems, compartmentation, and emergency infrastructure.
  • Reviewing water system designs and installations to meet ACOP L8, HSG274, and CIBSE guidelines, with a focus on legionella prevention and thermal balancing.
  • Managing asbestos risk assessments, sample testing, and licensed removal works in line with HSE 2012 regulations.
  • Coordinating with certified contractors and manufacturers to verify installations and secure all required documentation, certifications, and commissioning records.

This role requires technical leadership, regulatory fluency, and the ability to manage safety-critical elements within structural projects from concept to completion.

Strategy

  • Deliver projects in alignment with programme strategy and objectives.

Delivery

  • Manage day-to-day project activities including scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
  • Maintain accurate Keystone data and ensure timely updates.
  • Monitor EWNs and VOs, assessing impact and escalating where necessary.
  • Track milestone claims and ensure readiness for deliverables.
  • Produce and maintain PM Health Reports.

Meetings & Reporting

  • Attend Monthly PM update meetings and provide project status updates.
  • Contribute to Programme Review inputs and dashboard reporting.
  • Escalate risks and issues to the Prog Mgr and IDTL as appropriate.
  • Participate in Commercial/QS catch-ups and SC meetings.

SHEQ

  • Ensure project compliance with SHEQ requirements.
  • Conduct and support SHE inspections in line with programme objectives.
  • Maintain awareness of SHE performance via Health Reports.

HR & Recruitment

  • Support team development through mentorship and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in CPD activities and team meetings.

Approvals

  • Raise SAP transactions and seek approvals within DOA.
  • Support project-related approvals including base access and clearances.
