We're seeking a proactive and personable Retail Assistant to join our retail team. This role blends attentive customer care with practical showroom support, inventory awareness, and collaborative sales efforts. If you enjoy interacting with people, solving problems on the spot, and contributing to a smooth, welcoming experience, this could be the perfect fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly, understand their needs, and guide them through product options (windows, doors, treatments, and accessories)
  • Demonstrate product features and benefits, including energy efficiency, security, and maintenance requirements
  • Provide accurate quotations, process orders, and support after-sales service
  • Maintain an inviting, organized showroom: clean displays, up-to-date pricing, and accessible samples
  • Manage stock levels in-store and coordinate with the branch on replenishments
  • Collaborate with the sales and installation teams to ensure smooth project handoffs
  • Handle cash, card payments, and basic POS operations (training provided)
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety standards and company policies

Qualifications & Skills

  • Prior experience in retail, customer service, or showroom environments is not essential as training is provided
  • Familiarity with home improvement products is a plus; training provided
  • Strong communication and active listening skills
  • Confident with basic math for quotations and payments
  • Proficient with point-of-sale systems and simple computer tasks
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and autonomously when needed
  • Must be reliable, approachable, and customer-focused

Training & Development

  • Comprehensive onboarding covering product ranges, installation basics, and pricing systems
  • Ongoing product and sales training, including CPD-style updates on new materials and regulations
  • Opportunities for career progression within showroom, sales, or installation coordination paths
