Working Hours: 14 hours per week with potential for an increase in hours

Salary: £14,000 per annum

ROLE OVERVIEW

Were looking for a lead generator to join our team, helping identify and engage businesses that can benefit from Chamber membership. In this role, youll play a key part in supporting our onboarding and membership teams, driving the growth of our network. Youll proactively generate and qualify new member leads, ensuring a steady flow of high-quality prospects to boost new member sales and expand our community.

WHAT YOULL BE DOING

Responsibilities for the successful candidate include:

    • Identify (self-generate) new business leads through research, cold calling, email, social media and event attendance in line with expectations.
    • First point of contact for inbound and outbound leads via phone, email or LinkedIn to introduce NECC and the benefits of membership.
    • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified leads in line with sales expectations and to the achievement of business objectives.
    • Work closely with senior membership onboarding manager to ensure process and practice remains effective.
    • Follow up on event attendees, referrals and previous enquiries to nurture relationships.
    • Monitor all new member enquiries (inbox) ensuring all leads are contacted and progressed in a timely manner in line process and SLAs.
    • Proactively contribute to sales strategy supporting digital marketing and outreach (including planned and ad hoc activity).
    • Develop and maintain accurate weekly reports of lead activity and progress in line with expectations.
    • Utilise CRM effectively to log all new sales leads and relevant information with attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Keep up to date with industry news and local business developments to identify new opportunities.
  • Represent NECC professionally at events and networking opportunities when required.

Qualifications

    • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (grade A C) or equivalent, including Maths and English.

Skills and experience

    • Confident and professional communicator with strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent telephone manner and strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on building positive relationships.
    • Highly organised and detail-oriented, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasks.
    • Self-motivated, proactive, and driven to achieve and exceed targets.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems, with the ability to manage data and track leads effectively.
    • Capable of working independently while managing time and priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative team player who works effectively with colleagues across the Chamber.

Other requirements

    • Must live in the North East.
    • Ability to work in flexible locations and flexible hours, where needed.
    • Comfortable working independently and as a team.
  • Drive and enthusiasm in supporting the North East and our business community.
