Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging English and literacy lessons tailored to the needs of students with special educational needs
  • Implement targeted interventions and personalized learning plans to support literacy development
  • Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to facilitate improvement
  • Collaborate with the SEN team and other professionals to create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Foster a supportive and encouraging classroom environment that promotes student confidence and motivation
  • Participate in school initiatives to enhance literacy across the curriculum and support a love for reading
Experience and Qualifications
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching English and literacy, preferably to students with special educational needs
  • Strong knowledge of effective literacy intervention strategies and personalized learning approaches
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for helping students succeed
  • A clear DBS check
  • Legal right to work in the UK
