Description Make a Difference.   Be the Fresh Start.

  • Are you looking for a rewarding role working 1:1 with young people who need your help?
At Fresh Start in Education, we're looking for proactive, person-centred people to design and deliver personalised learning sessions that spark curiosity, confidence and a sense of hope for young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs who are currently out of education.  Whether it's going on a trip to the shops to explore Maths, unlocking their imagination through stories and art, or using gaming to uncover the wonders of Science, you'll inspire students to rediscover the joy of learning in a way that works for them.

If you have the experience, empathy and commitment to transform lives and are looking for a flexible role that allows you to deliver learning in ways that you feel best meet the student's needs and interests, we would love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Planning and delivering personalised, creative, educational sessions that reflect each learner's needs, interests and abilities, particularly in Maths and English
  • Running sessions during the school day (term time only) that typically last 3 to 5 hours
  • Engaging with students who may have autism, ADHD, SEMH needs, GDD or complex needs and helping them achieve outcomes at their pace
  • Working flexibly as part of a compassionate, expert-led team that values you and your skills

Who We're Looking For We welcome applications from individuals who have:
  • Experience (at least 1 year) as teachers, tutors, teaching assistants, SEN specialists and education professionals who have directly supported young people with SEN/SEMH needs
