WPP is the creative transformation company. We use the power of creativity to build better futures for our people, planet, clients, and communities.
Working at WPP means being part of a global network of more than 100,000 talented people dedicated to doing extraordinary work for our clients. We operate in over 100 countries, with corporate headquarters in New York, London and Singapore.
WPP is a world leader in marketing services, with deep AI, data and technology capabilities, global presence and unrivalled creative talent. Our clients include many of the biggest companies and advertisers in the world, including approximately 300 of the Fortune Global 500.
Our people are the key to our success. We're committed to fostering a culture of creativity, belonging and continuous learning, attracting and developing the brightest talent, and providing exciting career opportunities that help our people grow.
Why we're hiring:
We are seeking a seasoned and pragmatic delivery specialist to lead teams to deliver high quality projects on budget and within an agreed timeframe. This is a critical role that blends the delivery focus of a project manager with the facilitation and coaching of a Scrum Master. You will be responsible for guiding your teams through the end-to-end delivery lifecycle, ensuring they have a clear plan to deliver high-quality technology solutions, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and agile excellence.
Experience working in business change and transformation projects and part of large programmes is essential.
What you'll be doing:
End-to-End Delivery Ownership:
Shepherd initiatives from initial planning and scoping through to final release, ensuring alignment with the product roadmap and strategic objectives.
- Agile Facilitation & Coaching: Lead and facilitate all agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Reviews, Retrospectives), ensuring they are productive and outcome-focused. Coach the team on SCRUM principles and best practices to enhance their effectiveness and self-organisation.
- Risk & Dependency Management: Proactively identify, track, and mitigate risks, impediments, and dependencies. Work across squads and with other Delivery Managers to resolve blockers and ensure a smooth flow of work.
- Planning & Forecasting: Collaborate with Product Owners and engineering leads to create realistic delivery plans, forecasts, and timelines. Ensure the team's workload is sustainable and that expectations are managed effectively.
- Stakeholder Communication & Reporting: Serve as the key point of contact for delivery status. Provide clear, concise, and regular updates to stakeholders and leadership, using metrics (e.g., velocity, cycle time, burn-down charts) to report on progress and team health.
- Continuous Process Improvement: Drive a culture of relentless improvement by analysing team metrics and facilitating retrospectives. Implement process changes that increase predictability, quality, and team morale.
- Keep up to date with emerging industry practices and focus on improving the delivery processes
What you'll need:
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in a relevant role such as Scrum Master, Agile Project Manager, or Delivery Lead within a software development environment.
- Agile Expertise: Deep, hands-on knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and principles. You should be able to adapt practices to fit the team's context, not just follow them by the book.
- Project Management Fundamentals: Strong skills in project management disciplines, including risk management, dependency tracking, planning, and stakeholder communication.
- Technical Acumen: A solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including modern CI/CD practices, to facilitate effective conversations with engineering teams.
- Tools Proficiency: Expert-level user of Jira, Confluence, or similar agile management tools to manage backlogs, create reports, and track progress.
- Leadership & Influence: Proven ability to lead and motivate teams without direct authority. You are a facilitator, a coach, and a driver of outcomes.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred. Agile (e.g., CSM, PSM II) or Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) certifications are a strong plus.
