Full-Time Quantity Surveyor
Office Hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 7am to 4pm
- Friday: 6am to 1pm
About the Role:
We are looking for a forward-thinking, organized, and highly motivated individual to join our commercial team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of financial and contractual management of projects as well as having the ability to successfully negotiate tender bids and supplier purchase agreements, playing a crucial role across both the pre-construction and construction phases of the business. Your attention to detail and cost accuracy will directly contribute to the overall performance and profitability of the projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Tendering: Prepare and submit competitive tenders for projects, ensuring all aspects of costs, resources, and timeframes are accurately accounted for.
- Create / Manage Material Supplier Agreements: Negotiate, create, and manage agreements with suppliers for materials required for projects.
- Remeasurement of Works: Conduct site visits and remeasure completed works to ensure that costs are in line with expectations.
- Ordering of Materials: Ensure timely procurement of materials, maintaining a balance between cost and project deadlines.
- Variation Management: Manage any variations or changes in the scope of work, updating costs and schedules accordingly.
- Subcontractor Labour Payments: Monitor and process subcontractor labour payments, ensuring accuracy in line with contract terms.
- Monthly Valuations & Outstanding Payment Reviews: Conduct regular reviews of project valuations and track outstanding payments to ensure financial targets are met.
Skills & Qualifications Required:
- Minimum HNC/HND in a Quantity Surveying-related course or equivalent qualification.
- Proven construction industry experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and other stakeholders.
- Strong communication and management skills, capable of liaising effectively with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Proficient computer literacy skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation and financial management.
Desirable Skills:
- Carpentry knowledge and experience is a plus, adding value to the understanding of the technical and practical aspects of construction projects.
Duties
- Tender Submissions & Bill of Quantities (BoQ): Complete detailed tender submissions and prepare the Bill of Quantities (BoQ) for projects, ensuring all aspects of work are accounted for accurately.
- Evaluate Tender Submissions for Contract Negotiations: Assess tender submissions from suppliers and subcontractors, providing expert input to facilitate contract negotiations with clientele, ensuring the best value for the company and project stakeholders.
- Prepare Cost Estimates & Feasibility Analysis: Develop accurate and detailed cost estimates for potential projects, as well as conducting feasibility analyses for management to assess the viability and financial performance of proposed projects.
- Provide Monthly Cost Reports: Deliver monthly cost reports to management for ongoing projects, providing up-to-date financial tracking, identifying variances, and offering recommendations for corrective actions.
- Value Engineering & Cost Savings: Work closely with the project construction team to identify and implement value engineering and cost-saving strategies during the construction process, ensuring optimal project delivery within budget.
- Collaboration with Construction Team & Contractors: Collaborate with the construction team and main contractors to ensure the timely and high-standard delivery of contracts. Address any issues related to project scope, materials, and labour, ensuring seamless execution.
