We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and passionate Finishing Team Leader to join our Finishing team in Cramlington.
The Finishing Team Leader will be required to work a 10pm-6am shift, Monday to Friday.
As the Finishing team leader, you will be responsible for the smooth operation of our digital Finishing, working closely with the finishing manager to help maintain high quality output, job turnaround targets are met, and continually seeking ways to improve processes and efficiency.
Annual Salary is £29,500
Duties include the following yet others may be assigned to the needs of the business:
1. Supervise print finishing team:
Oversee the daily activities of the print finishing team, providing guidance and support to ensure tasks are carried out effectively and on time.
2. Coordinate tasks in final stages of print production:
Manage the workflow during the concluding stages of the printed jobs, ensuring that tasks such as trimming, binding, and packaging are executed in a timely and organized manner.
3. Ensure quality control standards are met:
Implement and enforce quality control procedures to guarantee that the finished print products meet the required standards for accuracy, appearance, and overall quality.
4. Manage team schedules and deadlines:
Create and maintain schedules, assigning tasks to team members based on priorities and deadlines to ensure timely completion of print finishing projects.
5. Collaborate with other departments:
Work closely with pre-press, printing, and other relevant departments to facilitate a smooth transition between different stages of the printing process and address any interdepartmental needs.
6. Troubleshoot issues and maintain equipment:
Address and resolve technical or operational issues that may arise during the print finishing process and help ensure that equipment is properly maintained for optimal performance.
7. Implement process improvements for efficiency:
Help identify areas for improvement in workflows and processes and help implement changes to enhance overall efficiency and productivity within the print finishing team.
8. Strong leadership and communication skills required:
Effectively lead the team by providing clear direction, fostering a positive work environment, and communicating with team members, management, and other departments to ensure a cohesive and successful print finishing operation.
9. Data collection and analysis:
Using data collection systems for collecting relevant data on print finishing processes, including turnaround times, error rates, resource utilization, staff training and staff performance. Analyse this data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities to enhance overall efficiency and quality in the print finishing operations.
Requirements- Proven experience as a team leader in a print environment essential
- In depth knowledge of Finishing processes
- Strong leadership and communications skills
- Experience in collecting and using data effectively
- Capable of performing routine maintenance tasks to keep equipment in optimal condition
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Attention to detail and an understanding of print quality controls
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions
- Available to work overtime
- Able to lift up to 25kg
