Commercial Underwriter

are on the lookout for a Commercial Underwriter to join the team.

What you'll be doing:

• Analysing in insurance proposals, determining policy terms and calculating premiums based on actuarial, statistical and background information.
• Administering specialist delegated motor trade product.
• Assessing standard and non-standard underwriting information.
• Offering appropriate quotations and acceptance of risks.
• Retention of existing broker base.
• Ensuring all underwriting is conducted within Authority limits.
• Reviewing referred claims.
• Responding to complaints in a timely and efficient manner.
• Maintaining regular contact with trading partners and acting professionally at all times.
• Ensuring that trading standards are being met.
• Liaising with Accounts Department to assist with collection of premiums.
• Providing exceptional customer service.
• Monitoring and keeping up to date with technical and regulatory matters and act accordingly.

What you'll need:

• 5 GCSE's grade C or above, including Maths and English (or equivalent/ or commensurate experience).
• Substantial insurance industry experience in broking or underwriting to include commercial motor and property insurance.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word and Excel.
• Data analysis experience.
