A blend of online and physical retailing: Our live experiential showroom in Westfield London brings some of the magic of theatre to how we shop for lifestyle technology products. Our presenters bring products to life with live storytelling and live streamed content whilst our knowledgeable advisors help shoppers understand the products better and guide them to the best places to buy online. Our digital platform manages and presents product information across our catalogue of entertainment, home, work, communications, wellness, sport, travel and more. Our easy-to-use digital shopping content and tools take the stress out of choosing what's right for shoppers. We then connect shoppers to their favourite places they can buy the product.The role We are looking for an experienced Frontend Developer who will be responsible for creating best in class interfaces and outstanding interactive consumer apps. You should have a keen interest in interface development using the latest technologies and can demonstrate a strong portfolio of mobile first webapps. You are a team player, can communicate ideas articulately and you add considerable value to the UI/UX design process to bring designs alive.  As a new and agile team, we have the benefit of always using the latest frontend technologies and frameworks. Our tech stack is predominantly Azure based, working with Vue and occasionally Angular and follow a MACH (microservices, API-first, cloud-native, headless) approach to our product development. You will be comfortable working in a fluid manner using Agile methodologies and following test driven development principles (TDD). Our team all work from home so you need to have a good home working environment and connection (A top of the range laptop will be provided should you require it.). You may be required on occasions to travel to events and/or the Venue. You will need to be the type of individual who pushes boundaries, always looking to improve your knowledge, and whose heart skips a beat when you discover a new method, or you solve that tricky problem.  As we develop our services there will be opportunities to develop immersive experiences using experiential and cognitive technologies – including voice, mixed reality, livestreaming, and geospatial services. You will be obsessed with pristine code, elegant UI design and delivering UX that facilitates growth and satisfaction. Proactive, self-motivated, self-aware, able to work alone as well as develop relationships working as an integral part of a team in a fast-paced environment.What you will do
  • Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications
  • Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable applications
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of solutions
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
  • Help maintain code quality, organisation, and automation
  • Contribute ideas for improvement to the wider development team
  • Ensure client teams are kept up to date with the progress on projects
  • Write Unit/E2E tests to ensure code is stable and bug free
What we are looking for
  • 3+ years' demonstrable commercial experience in a frontend or UX role
  • HTML5 and CSS for responsive website builds
  • A good understanding of Vue 2 (with composition API) or 3
  • A good understanding of GraphQL
  • Experience with CSS pre-processors (Our applications use SCSS)
  • A keen interest in UX/UI
  • Use of build tools such as Webpack
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Demonstrable problem-solving ability
We'd love it if you had any of these skills too - but they aren't essential
  • Experience with any other front-end JS frameworks is a plus
  • Experience or interest in automation for Front End testing, and/or with testing frameworks such as Cypress or Selenium
  • Taking ownership and steering direction of the front-end code
  • Building reusable elements for content management systems
  • Knowledge of WCAG guidelines
