Role Description
This is a part-time on-site role located in Lincoln for a Costs Lawyer / Costs Draftsman at Sills & Betteridge Solicitors LLP. Key responsibilities include preparing accurate and detailed bills of costs, drafting various legal documents, and advising clients on legal costs. The role also involves negotiating settlements, handling assessments, and ensuring legislative compliance within the costs domain.
Qualifications
- Expertise in drafting detailed and summary bills of costs, and schedules of costs
- Strong negotiation skills and experience in dispute resolution
- Proficiency in reviewing and analyzing legal documentation and preparing comprehensive cost estimates
- Keen understanding of relevant legal regulations and processes, including rules relating to costs assessments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail
- Capacity to work independently and manage caseload efficiently
- Experience in legal and financial matters; prior experience in costs drafting or working within a legal environment is a plus
- Qualified Costs Lawyer or equivalent professional designation is desirable
