Overview

We are seeking a reliable and professional Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for picking up drivers mate collecting waste materialsand scrap metal. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in commercial driving, delivery experience, or warehouse operations to utilise their skills in a dynamic environment. The successful applicant will demonstrate strong communication skills, mechanical knowledge, and experience with flatbed vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate commercial vehicles, including flatbed lorries, to deliver goods to designated locations.
  • Plan routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure vehicle safety and operational readiness.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered on the road.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance logs.

Skills

  • Proven experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver.
  • Strong driving skills with a clean driving record; experience with flatbed vehicles is desirable.
  • Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot minor issues.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and team members professionally.
  • Prior warehouse experience is advantageous for understanding loading procedures and inventory handling.
  • Ability to operate a variety of vehicles confidently, including those requiring specialised driving licences such as driver endorsements.
  • Organised with the ability to plan routes efficiently and manage time effectively under tight schedules. This role provides an engaging opportunity for motivated individuals seeking a professional driving position within a supportive team environment.
